Hogans Hotel Chef/Cook

• Full Time  We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef/Cook to join our business on a full-time basis.

This position will require the candidate to be available across a 7-day roster In this role, you will take responsibility for rostering, menu planning; ordering and serve top quality food to patrons.   Key Responsibilities will include:

• Planning of menu items and liaising with the Restaurant Manger on costs/expenses
• Assisting with all aspects of food preparation
• Supervising kitchen staff and working collectively to meet restaurant demands
• Checking of kitchen inventory and ordering of supplies as required
• Estimating of all restaurant costs including food, labour and incidentals
• Mentoring and training of junior staff as required
• Monitoring of food preparation to ensure high standards are adhered to at all times
• Assisting the Head Chef in planning Staff Rosters
• Adhering to all OH&S regulations and regular updating of policies as required   Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a busy kitchen environment
• Certificate IV or higher in commercial cooking
• Expertise in the hospitality sector
• Superior customer service focus
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to liaise with a diverse clientele
• Flexible, adaptable and ability to work weekdays and weekends
• Well-presented and professional
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Team player with a can-do attitude who can also work effectively unsupervised
