Workshop Assistant

The Role
We are looking for a Workshop Assistant to assist in Dozer and Excavator Track Assembly and Disassembly at our workshop in Yatala, Queensland.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, punctual, and have an eye for detail. This is a full-time position, offering a competitive package with occasional overtime. Workshop hours are 7.00 am till 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Tasks and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Operate heavy machinery and tooling including angle grinders, impact and hydraulic torque wrenches and presses.

• Follow safe work procedures and guidelines at all times

• Work cohesively as part of a team to complete projects in a timely manner

• Repair and refurbish earthmoving undercarriage components

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop

Qualifications:

• A current forklift licence is required for this role

• The ability to use an oxy-acetylene cutting torch would be beneficial

• Basic welding skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Experience in earthmoving undercarriage repairs is highly desirable

• Good communication skills

• A valid driver's license
