Senior Associate

The role

Due to our continued growth, Piper Alderman is seeking a talented Senior Associate with 5+ years of post-qualified experience to join our Dispute Resolution & Litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial litigation and related dispute matters.

With a strong pipeline of upcoming work, this is an excellent career opportunity to grow and progress in a fast-paced but rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be provided the direct opportunity to be mentored whilst working on large scale litigation and dispute natters.

The team also work closely with many Australian and International litigation funders and are regularly briefed on third-party funded litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborating on large scale funded litigation and dispute matters
• Drafting emails, correspondence, opinions, advice, and legal documentation for court and tribunal proceedings
• Assisting with the preparation and management of files
• Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents
• Managing the discovery process including collecting, reviewing, and organising documents and evidence
• Attending court appearances and mediations

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• 5+ years of post-admission litigation experience
• An excellent academic record coupled with strong technical legal skills and strong foundational experience in commercial litigation
• A commitment to excellence and delivery of high-quality outcomes to our clients
• Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and at times, work to tight deadlines
• Strong drafting skills with specific ability to draft court documents and affidavits
• A team player with a supportive and collaborative working style
• A high attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high quality work
• An excellent communicator, both verbal and written
• A self-motivated and “can-do” attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow your career with Piper Alderman
