Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola.  We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. About the role:

Working within McArthur River Mines Metallurgy maintenance team, you will perform preventative maintenance of plant and mobile equipment in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendations. As a maintenance Plant Fitter, you will be reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor’s, whilst working towards business objectives and strategies to achieve KPI’s.

What we are looking for:

• Demonstrated experience within a mechanical fitting role – mining experience is highly desirable
• Someone who has a strong safety focus and has worked to strict safety protocols
• Ability to fix and maintain fixed plant mechanical equipment to minimise production downtime
• Execute daily maintenance tasks as directed by the daily maintenance schedule
• Diagnose and fix equipment faults at the direction of appropriate supervisors
• High attention to detail with safety at the forefront of the work
• Adhering to high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and the job site

What you will need:

• Demonstrated experience in installation and maintenance on fixed plant
• Ability to work within highly regulated safety environment
• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or similar
• Ability to work within a team environment and autonomously
• Current Working at Heights, EWP, Confined Space tickets, Forklift, Dogman tickets
• Current non-slew crane ticket (Highly desired)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including X-Ray and Drug & Alcohol test
