About The Role

DBG Health is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Legal team based in Melbourne for a 12mth Fixed-Term contract. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide pragmatic legal advice and support across the DBG Group.

This is a diverse and business-facing role where you will partner with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Procurement and People & Culture to enable business growth while effectively managing legal risk. You will also play an important role in mentoring junior legal team members and contributing to the continuous improvement of legal operations and processes.

Role & Responsibilities

Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply, licensing, distribution, technology, SaaS, marketing, sponsorship and service contracts.Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on contractual, regulatory and operational matters across multiple business functions.Support strategic business initiatives, projects and new commercial opportunities while identifying and mitigating legal risk.Manage contract negotiations with customers, suppliers, service providers, wholesalers, pharmacies and other commercial partners.Supervise and mentor a Graduate Lawyer and Paralegal, supporting their professional development and day-to-day workload management.Contribute to legal operations by improving processes, templates, legal technology systems, contract management practices and stakeholder training.

Skills & Experience

Minimum 5-6 years' post-admission experience, gained in-house and/or within a reputable private practice environment.Strong experience drafting, negotiating and advising on complex commercial agreements across a range of industries or business functions.Proven ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused legal advice that balances commercial objectives with legal risk.Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage across all levels of the business.Experience mentoring, coaching or supervising junior legal professionals is desirable.Admission to practice in Australia with a current Victorian Practising Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
