Medical Receptionist

Seeking a friendly, professional, and organised Medical Receptionist to join our team on a PPT basis. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient reception area. In this role, you will assist with appointment scheduling, patient enquiries, administrative tasks, and supporting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

• Answer phone calls, manage appointment bookings, and respond to patient enquiries.

• Process patient details and update medical records accurately.

• Handle billing and Medicare claims.

• Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, faxes and phone calls.

• Maintain confidentiality and uphold privacy regulations in line with medical practice standards.

• Support healthcare practitioners with administrative tasks as required.

• Ensure the reception and waiting areas are clean, organised, and welcoming.

Requirements & Skills

• Previous experience as a receptionist, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.

• Proficiency in medical practice software (preferably Genie) is desirable.

• Strong customer service skills with a professional and compassionate approach.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Understanding of Medicare, private health insurance claims, and medical billing is an advantage.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Availability for flexible shifts, including weekends or evenings if required.
