Accounting Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Assistant. If you have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for accuracy, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.

• Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, for review by senior accounting staff.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial information.

• Provide support during the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

• Assist in implementing and improving accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance in financial operations.

• Handle ad-hoc accounting tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

• Proficient in using accounting software (Pronto Software an advantage).

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

• Prior experience in a similar accounting role is preferred but not mandatory.

To be considered for the role you will require the following professional competencies and personal attributes:

- Have proven experience in a similar role for a minimum of 5 years

- Experience using the Pronto Accounting Software is welcome, but is not compulsory

- Competent computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

- Strong attention to detail, the ability to work within a small team environment and autonomously using your own initiative

- Reliable and strong work ethic and good time management skills
