Assistant Night Manager

Mondrian Gold Coast is an immersive precinct that reflects the culture of one of Australia’s most iconic coastal destinations.

As our Assistant Night Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the hotel’s operations during nighttime hours, ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency while managing the night team. This role is critical for maintaining the smooth functioning of all hotel services, from late check-ins and check-outs to handling emergencies and ensuring that the night audit process is accurately completed. 

THE ROLE

• Assist the Night Manager to lead and oversee the night team, including Front Office and concierge ensuring efficient overnight operations and delivering Mondrian’s signature guest experience.  

• Be the primary point of contact for all guest inquiries, complaints, and emergencies, responding quickly with appropriate solutions to uphold guest satisfaction and safety.  

• Oversee and complete the nightly audit process, ensuring that all transactions, postings, and financial reports are accurate, and discrepancies are investigated and resolved.  

• Conduct property inspections to ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and presentation are maintained during the night.  

• Review guest feedback and performance data from the evening and night operations, proposing actions to improve service and operations.  

THE REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role in luxury hotels or a similar hospitality setting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, flexibility and adaptability to manage changing priorities and workflow. 

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.  

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 

• Experience in using a Property Management system such as Opera Cloud is highly desirable.

• Ability to work overnight shifts including weekends and public holidays.

• Must have valid Australia Working Rights.
