Development Manager (Data Centres)

Our client is a developer and owner of large-scale infrastructure and energy assets, with an exciting pipeline of projects in Western Australia. 

About the Role

You will be responsible for taking data centre developments from initial concept and site identification through to development approvals, up to the point of construction. You will contribute to all aspects of the development lifecycle, working across site selection, due diligence, planning, environmental approvals, infrastructure requirements and stakeholder engagement. It would suit someone with circa 3-5+ years' experience, with knowledge of data centres.

Responsibilities

• Drive the early-stage development of major data centre projects across WA.
• Source and assess potential development sites
• Lead feasibility and due diligence activities covering planning, environmental, land, utilities, power, access and wider infrastructure considerations
• Oversee the approvals pathway, coordinating planning applications, environmental assessments and engagement with relevant authorities
• Engage and manage external consultants to deliver technical investigations, reports and key project milestones
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with various landholders

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualifications 
• 3-5+ years' experience working on the development or delivery of major infrastructure projects within Australia
• Experience and knowledge of data centres
• Experience assessing development opportunities, undertaking site due diligence and progressing projects through early development stages
• Knowledge of Australian planning and environmental approval frameworks and stakeholder engagement processes
• Proven ability to manage external advisers
• Commercially minded and self-driven
