WHS & Wellbeing Coordinator

Edward River Council is seeking an experienced and passionate WHS & Wellbeing Coordinator to lead the delivery of workplace health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to influence organisational culture, drive continuous improvement, and support a safe, healthy and resilient workforce.

 Key Responsibilities:   

• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Council's WHS and wellbeing framework. 

• Provide expert WHS advice to management, executive teams and committees. 

• Develop and implement workplace wellbeing initiatives with a focus on psychosocial health and wellbeing. 

• Coordinate WHS audits, inspections, training programs, emergency management planning and compliance activities. 

• Lead incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions and risk controls. 

• Monitor, analyse and report on WHS performance, trends and compliance outcomes. 

• Support Return to Work practices and injury management initiatives. 

• Foster a positive safety culture through coaching, consultation, engagement and education across the organisation. 

 What You Will Bring:  

• Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Risk Management or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience. 

• Minimum three years' experience working with WHS management systems and continuous improvement programs. 

• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice. 

• Experience developing and implementing WHS and wellbeing policies, procedures and initiatives. 

• Demonstrated ability to influence organisational safety culture and drive positive change. 

• Excellent communication, relationship-building, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills. 

• Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain. 

• Current Driver Licence.
