About you

As a Peer Wellbeing Navigator, you’ll bring your own lived experience and story of recovery, paired with skills gained through education and training, to support individuals impacted by mental illness, psychological distress, and substance use. You will create a safe, supportive environment for participants to share their stories and engage in their own recovery process.

You’ll be comfortable sharing your personal experiences in a way that fosters connection and empathy, while also understanding the complexities of mental health recovery.
 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

• Provide intentional peer support to help participants on their recovery journeys.
• Offer one-on-one service navigation and care planning to ensure personalized support.
• Facilitate group peer sessions that promote shared learning and community connection.
• Build capacity to empower individuals in managing their mental health and well-being.
• Support engagement with clinical and community-based recovery services.

Working alongside other disciplines, you’ll play a key role in our collaborative network fostering a safe and inclusive space for healing and growth.

You will also need:

• Personal Experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services, including mental health services
• Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, AOD or tertiary qualification in social science OR 1+ year relevant work experience in a peer worker role
• 100 points of identification
• Evidence of right to work in Australia
• Drivers Licence
• National Police Check
• Working with Children Check - Blue Card
• NDIS Workers Screening Check
• NDIS Workers Orientation Modules – free online course
• Willingness to work a rotating roster including evenings and weekends

The role offers part-time opportunities at 30.4 hours per week, with flexible rostering to support work-life balance.
