Qualified Chef – Authentic Italian Cuisine

About the role

Piccolino Restaurant is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Chef to join our team. In this role, you will be key to managing kitchen operations, maintaining dish quality, and driving culinary consistency across our Italian menu.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present authentic Italian dishes according to restaurant recipes and strict standards.

• Plan and cost menu items, seasonal specials, and traditional dishes in collaboration with senior kitchen staff.

• Oversee and supervise kitchen team members, ensuring smooth workflow during peak service hours.

• Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and local health regulations.

• Manage stock levels, monitor food quality, supplier orders, and assist with inventory control to minimize waste.

• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and apprentices.

About you

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent foreign qualification).

• Minimum of 2 years of full-time, post-qualification experience as a Chef.

• Experience in Italian or Mediterranean cuisine highly regarded.

• Strong expertise in authentic Italian cooking techniques, pasta making, and dough preparation.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication, leadership, and time-management skills.
