Procurement Specialist

Fredon Technology is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Procurement Specialist to join our growing business.

Ordinary Days of Work: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - Office-based in Silverwater

Hours of work: Flexible however, minimum 6 hours per day and up to 7.6 hours per day

Reporting to the National Procurement Manager, you will lead the day-to-day procurement function, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of materials, equipment, and services that support project delivery and operational success.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a procurement professional to join our National Procurement team working collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure procurement activities support business objectives while delivering value, quality, and service excellence.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the National Procurement Manager in implementing procurement strategies, policies, and initiatives that deliver cost efficiencies, supply continuity, and commercial value across the business. 

• Work with Business Development, Estimating, Project Management, and Operational teams to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and material availability to support tender submissions and project delivery. 

• Manage sourcing, supplier engagement, and procurement activities for projects and operational requirements in accordance with delegated authorities and established procurement procedures. 

• Provide procurement governance and quality assurance by reviewing specifications, supplier selections, and purchasing decisions to minimise risk, errors, and supply issues. 

• Negotiate pricing, lead times, stock availability, and commercial terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and improve procurement outcomes. 

• Ensure procurement records, supplier documentation, contracts, asset registers, and disposal records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company governance requirements. 

• Provide advice, guidance, and support to stakeholders on procurement practices, supplier engagement, and purchasing requirements 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience. 

• Demonstrated experience in a procurement, purchasing, supply chain or commercial management role. 

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence outcomes across all levels of the business and with external suppliers. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, business cases, and procurement recommendations. 

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and procurement or ERP systems. 

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, monitor supplier performance, and provide meaningful procurement insights and reporting. 

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
