About The Role And Where You Will Be Working
The Community Based Speech Pathology Service provides generalist paediatric services across Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie and Newcastle LGAs. You’ll join a supportive team delivering evidence-based, client-centred care.
The successful applicant will provide community-based assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children with communication and/or swallowing difficulties. The role may be based at a community health centre across Greater Newcastle and includes supervision from a senior clinician.
This is a short-term vacancy, with a strong likelihood of extension.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist who can work confidently both independently and as part of a supportive team in a community health setting.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of children, families and colleagues. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to prioritise and develop practical solutions, are essential.
You will be committed to evidence-based practice, professional development and continuous improvement. You’ll be supported through clinical supervision, peer support and access to ongoing professional development opportunities.
Requirements
Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full-time or part time vacancies.This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
