Experienced Defence Practitioner | Canberra
💼 Permanent full-time employment💰 $170,000 to $190,000 p.a. including superannuation📍 Face-to-face at Russell Offices. No remote work.🔐 Current NV1 and previous Defence experience mandatory
We’re looking for an experienced Defence practitioner who can turn complex policy, processes and stakeholder input into clear products and practical outcomes. Relevant backgrounds could include:
• Capability development or management• Policy, doctrine or technical writing• Training, instruction or facilitation• Project or program delivery• Headquarters or operational staff roles
What matters is that you understand Defence, communicate clearly, engage senior stakeholders and deliver with limited direction. The work will involve research, writing, facilitation, stakeholder consultation and coordination.

The Defence consulting market is challenging, but Eolas is thriving because of the quality of our people and their work, supported by rates that remain competitive.
Eolas has grown from one person to 27 over the past two and a half years. Six new team members have joined since July. We only employ permanent full-time staff. We do not build our workforce around subcontractors or employ people on fixed-term contracts.
We have never made anyone redundant because of a gap in client-facing work. Between engagements, our people remain employed and use the time for professional development and internal priorities.
Applicants must already hold a current NV1 clearance, have previous Defence experience and be available to work face-to-face at Russell Offices in Canberra. These are fixed requirements.
