At Clarity Psychology, we focus on providing psychologists with a supported environment where they can be a part of a collaborative team of people with shared goals. We are a small, boutique psychology practice that recognises the importance of staff wellbeing. The principal psychologist has an open-door policy and is always available to discuss complex cases so that staff can feel comfortable to challenge themselves and take on cases that will help them grow their skillset. We provide supervision to help staff specialise and build the career they want (including tailoring their client load to their areas of interests).

We strive to provide a fun working environment for psychologists on the team, including team lunches and dinners. Our newly renovated rooms with modern furnishings and natural light provide a welcoming and warm environment for staff and clients alike.

Our new rooms are conveniently located in the heart of St Kilda and are easily accessible by public transport. There are also multiple great local food options nearby on both Carlisle and Chapel Street, and a kitchen with full amenities, coffee, and tea.

What we're looking for

At Clarity Psychological Services, we are looking for motivated and enthusiastic psychologists who value making a difference in people's lives using evidence-based practice. Whether you are a newly qualified psychologist or have many years' of clinical experience, we want to hear from you!

We encourage flexible working arrangements and can also offer a mix of face-to-face consultations at the practice and/or telehealth off site/at home to suit your needs.

We pride ourselves on being able to provide a highly flexible working arrangement. Whilst we are seeking a psychologist for 1-2 days per week, appointment times will be largely at your discretion. You can choose to have as few as three appointments per week if you like. We are also happy for you to start out slow and build to a pace that feels right for you.

Typical client presentations include high-prevalence disorders (mainly depression and anxiety) with a mix of more complex clients. The principal psychologist has a particular interest in trauma, substance use, and neurodivergence, so if these interest to you, there is room for additional learning and growth in these areas.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant qualification within the field of psychology

• Full registration as a psychologist with AHPRA (new graduates are welcome to apply)

• Eligible for Medicare Provider Number

• To work as a contractor, you will need an ABN & Indemnity Insurance (we can provide support for you to obtain this before commencing in the role)

• Minimum Master's degree qualification in psychology is required

• Australian work rights are required for this position

Desirable:

• Previous clinical experience working in a hospital, consultancy, and/or private practice

• A specific area of interest/expertise with regard to client presenting issues

• A special interest in trauma work, substance use disorders, neurodivergence, and/or eating disorders

• Schema and/or EMDR Therapy training and experience

• A desire to join our practice in a long term capacity

Tasks & responsibilities will include:

• Excellent clinical, writing, organisation, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently, with strong organisational and time management skills

• Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based psychological therapy

• Great time management and punctuality with clients

• Ability to work with short, medium, and longer-term client presentations

• Maintenance of professional case notes, file management, and ethical standards

• Positive attitude, with a friendly demeanour

• Ability to complete written reports (e.g., Medicare MHCP reports and GP letters)
