Bar Manager

QCYC is seeking a motivated and organised Bar Manager to provide leadership supervising bar and food service at the Club's restaurant. The role includes managing and undertaking bar service, supervising and managing casual service staff, managing restaurant bookings, completing bar administration, and coordinating with the Kitchen and Functions teams. The Full-Time position requires being on site 4 days per week (usually Thursday to Sunday), including closing for ALL trading days.

Key responsibilities

• Be present during open hours of the bar and restaurant to work the bar and supervise and manage bar and food service.

• Be responsible for bar closing each open day.

• Lead and manage casual staff including rostering and management of qualifications.

• Coordinate logistics with kitchen and function teams.

• Conduct stocktaking, management and ordering of bar stock and equipment.

• Consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, commitment, fairness, and cooperation towards guests and staff in all aspects of bar and restaurant service and operation.

• Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to booking records and reports and management of the POS system.

• Assist in maintaining the restaurant booking system and client feedback to track KPIs including bookings, revenue, and client satisfaction.

• Assist where needed with marketing and business development to generate new bookings.

• Participate in Food and Beverage Management meetings with key Kitchen and Function Staff reporting to the QCYC Board.

• Previous experience in hospitality, or bar management.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to motivate and lead the team by example.

• Highly organised with attention to detail.

• RSA and Food Handling certification essential.
