Traffic Control Crew Leaders

Job Summary:
We are seeking both reliable and experienced Traffic Control Crew Leaders to oversee and coordinate the daily activities of traffic control teams on construction, maintenance, and utility projects. The Crew Leader ensures compliance with all safety regulations, maintains efficient worksite operations, and provides on-site leadership for traffic control personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coordinate, and supervise the setup, maintenance, and removal of traffic control devices (cones, signs, barricades) in accordance with code of practise.

• Ensure all crew members follow proper safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Communicate clearly with project managers, contractors, and crew members regarding work schedules, site needs, and traffic patterns.

• Perform daily job site inspections to assess compliance with safety standards and adjust traffic control plans as needed within tolerance.

• Train and mentor new traffic control personnel; provide performance feedback to management Via crew leader Reports.

• Maintain accurate records of job activities, incidents, and equipment usage.

• Respond quickly and professionally to on-site emergencies or changes in traffic flow.

• Operate company vehicles and equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid Traffic Control Tickets (BWTM, TC, WTM, AWTM)

• Valid driver's license.

• Current certification.

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physical labour (lifting up to 15kg, standing for long periods).

Work Environment:
Outdoor construction environments with exposure to weather, traffic hazards, and loud noise. May require early morning, evening, weekend, or overnight shifts depending on project needs.
