Software Engineer

Location: Pakenham, VIC

Salary: $80,001 - $100,000

Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and features supporting Logiquick's logistics and fleet management platform.
• Investigate and resolve software defects and recurring technical issues across the platform.
• Build, maintain and enhance web-based and backend applications and associated services, including fleet tracking, dashboards and reporting tools.
• Assist with the delivery of system upgrades, integrations and new software deployments.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code following best practice standards.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development processes and standards.
• Design and maintain databases, APIs and system integrations.
• Collaborate with operations and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor application performance and respond to bugs, performance issues, and system errors.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security and performance of existing systems.
• Assist with security reviews, vulnerability remediation and application-hardening activities.
• Work with third-party vendors, libraries and platforms when specialist integration is required.
• Participate in testing and release cycles, and after-hours support or critical incident escalations when required.

  Technical Background Programming & Development

• Proficiency in one or more languages such as C#, JavaScript / TypeScript, Java or Python
• Object-oriented programming and software design principles
• Front-end frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue
• Back-end frameworks such as Microsoft dot NET, ASP dot NET Core, Node JS, Spring Boot or Django
• RESTful API design and development
• Version control using Git Databases
• SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Database design, optimisation and query performance
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB (advantageous) Cloud & Infrastructure
• Microsoft Azure or AWS
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Cloud-based deployment and hosting environments Security
• Secure coding practices and vulnerability awareness
• Familiarity with OWASP principles
• Authentication and authorisation frameworks (OAuth, JWT) Systems & Tools
• Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Software testing frameworks and test-driven development
• Issue tracking and project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps)   Qualification & experience Essential  
• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, application development or a closely related position.
• Minimum bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience developing and supporting business or enterprise software applications.
• Strong understanding of software development principles and system troubleshooting.
• Experience working with modern development frameworks and cloud platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate technical problems and deliver practical solutions.
• Ability to work professionally with internal stakeholders and communicate technical information clearly.

  Desirable Training & Certifications   Candidates with training or certifications in areas such as the following will be highly regarded:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or equivalent
• AWS Certified Developer or equivalent
• Relevant programming language certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Java Programmer)
• Agile/Scrum certification (CSM, PSM)
• Cybersecurity fundamentals training   Equivalent professional experience and industry-recognised training will also be considered where appropriate.
