Our client is an established supplier of industrial surface preparation, blasting and coating equipment, supporting customers across manufacturing, engineering, construction, infrastructure, mining and other heavy industrial sectors.
 
Their product range includes abrasive blasting equipment, blast pots, spray painting and coating equipment, airless spray systems, compressors, hoses, nozzles, PPE and associated consumables and spare parts.
 
Working with contractors, fabricators, manufacturers, asset owners and industrial maintenance businesses, the company provides both equipment and technical support to customers undertaking surface preparation, corrosion protection and protective coating applications.
With an established Victorian customer base and a strong reputation for product knowledge and service, the business is looking to appoint an Account Manager to its Melbourne team.
 
OPPORTUNITY
 
An opportunity is available for an experienced Account Manager to identify, cultivate, manage, and grow a wide portfolio of industrial customers across Victoria.
 
Based from the company’s branch in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, you’ll inherit an existing customer base while also being responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities throughout the territory.
 
This is a hands-on, customer-facing sales position involving regular site visits, account management, new business development and technical product discussions. You’ll work closely with customers to understand their applications and recommend appropriate blasting, surface preparation and coating equipment and consumables.
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and growing an established portfolio of industrial customers
• Developing new business across manufacturing, engineering, infrastructure, construction and industrial maintenance markets
• Conducting regular customer visits, site inspections and product demonstrations
• Identifying equipment, consumable and aftermarket sales opportunities
• Preparing quotations and following up enquiries and sales opportunities
• Providing customers with practical product and application advice
• Building relationships with purchasing, maintenance, operations and business owners
• Working closely with internal service and operations teams to deliver customer solutions
• Maintaining sales activity, opportunities and customer information within the CRM
• Achieving agreed revenue, margin and business development targets
• Travelling throughout Victoria as required to support customers and develop the territory

CANDIDATE
 
You will ideally possess:

• Previous B2B sales, account management or business development experience
• A technical, mechanical or industrial background, either through sales experience or a relevant trade, highly regarded
• Experience within industrial equipment, engineering, manufacturing, surface preparation or related markets advantageous
• A demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with industrial customers
• Confidence managing existing accounts while identifying and developing new business
• The ability to understand technical products, applications and customer requirements
• A proactive, self-motivated approach to territory management
• Strong communication, organisation and follow-up skills
• Willingness to travel throughout Victoria for customer and site visits
• A current Australian driver’s licence
• Full Australian working rights
