About the role
If you enjoy creating, facilitating, collaborating and turning ideas into action, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for an Organisational Development Specialist to join our People and Culture team, with a strong focus on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll help create a workplace where people feel included, valued and able to thrive. You’ll drive DEI initiatives, facilitate our Leader Induction Program, contribute to policies and work on projects that improve the experience of our people and leaders. In doing so, you’ll support the people who make our purpose possible: helping keep kids safe, heal from trauma and lead happy lives.
A key part of your role will be driving our DEI work. You’ll build on existing initiatives, identify opportunities for improvement, and bring new ideas to life.
You’ll be an active member of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group, collaborating with an engaged team that has already achieved a great deal. You’ll also contribute to the planning and development of our next RAP.
You’ll facilitate our Leader Induction Program, develop and review People and Culture policies and resources, and contribute to projects across culture, leadership, and organisational development.
It’s an exciting time to join us as we begin integrating the Sanctuary Model, a trauma-informed framework, across Act for Kids and Youthrive. This work will strengthen how we collaborate, support one another, and create safe, connected environments.
Please read the full position description for more information.
As this role has a strong focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, we value lived experience and diverse perspectives, as well as experience working alongside people from different backgrounds and communities.
We recognise that relevant experience can be gained in different ways, including through professional, community and lived experience.
Act for Kids is a for-purpose organisation that delivers evidence-based support services to children and families who have experienced or are at risk of harm. Our teams are at the heart of everything we do, and we are united by a single purpose to help keep kids safe, heal from trauma and lead happy lives and thrive.
You will have access to:
Make a difference every day in a values-led organisation. We’re more than just a workplace—we’re a community built on shared values: Professional, Ethical, Caring, Courageous, and Collaborative. We’re proud to be recognised for our commitment to inclusion as Inclusive Employer 2023–24 and 2025–26 by the Diversity Council Australia.
