FIFO Civil Labourer / Entry Level Plant Operator

Meeka Metals Limited (MEK) operates Western Australia’s newest gold mine.

The project is a combined open pit and underground mining operation with an initial 10-year mine life.  

About the role:

We're looking for a motivated and reliable Civil Labourer / Entry Level Plant Operator to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous civil construction experience who wants to develop their skills and progress into operating machinery while working on a variety of civil and mining projects.

About the Role

• General civil labouring

• Earthworks and site preparation

• Assisting experienced plant operators

• Trenching and drainage works

• Pipe laying and installation

• Installation of services and infrastructure

• Traffic management where required

• Operation of light vehicles, small plant and equipment

• Pre-start inspections and basic maintenance of equipment

• Housekeeping and maintaining a safe work environment

• Opportunity to progress into operating larger civil plant

Required skills and experience:

Essential

• Previous experience in a civil construction role

• Physically fit and willing to perform manual labour

• Current C Class Driver's Licence

• Construction White Card

• Strong commitment to safety

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Ability to work effectively in a team

• Good communication skills

Desirable

• HR Driver's Licence

• Articulated Dump Truck ticket

• Water Cart ticket

• Roller ticket

• Forklift licence

• Telehandler ticket or experience

• FIFO experience

• National Police Clearance

• First Aid Certificate

• Working at Heights

• Confined Space
