Electrical URD Design Engineer

The Role:

• Provide strategic advice for developments requiring network augmentation including feasibility studies that promote positive client and authority relationships

• Design and draft electrical LV/HV overall masterplans across residential, industrial and commercial project portfolios in Powercor, AusNet, Jemena & United Energy networks

• Design public lighting plans, lux plot diagrams and liaise with relevant authorities for approval

• Coordinate with authority representatives and demonstrate an understanding of the company's commercial aspects

• Experience in completing overhead design updates in AusNet

• Proven knowledge of technical design and drafting standards within Powercor, AusNet, United Energy and Jemena networks

• Design and draft URD detailed designs to relevant technical standards

• Design and drafting of electrical cabling layout to point of supply and customer supply pillars, mains switchboards (MSB's)

• Demonstrated ability in completing AS3000 detail design

• Mentor junior engineers and provide support and guidance 

• Provide ongoing project management to deliver projects on time and to budget

• Adhere to the relevant Australian Standards

• Coordinate and communicate regularly with land developers and all internal and external stakeholders in a prompt manner
  

What you need:

• 3-5 years of proven experience with Underground Residential Development projects working on Underground and Overhead designs within but not limited to Powercor, AusNet, Jemena, and United Energy networks. AS3000 experience is highly valued.

• Electrical Engineering Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma

• Proven AS3000 design capability

• NER/RPEV accreditation or working towards

• ESI worker card

• Powercor Option 2 Design accreditation is desired

• Proficient in AutoCAD

• AGI32, PerfectLite and LVDESIGN proficient

• Ability to undertake volt drop, cable pulling and maximum demand calculations across all network authorities

• Well-developed written and oral communication skills

• Be willing to learn new technology and adapt to company innovations

• Proven ability to problem solve and provide proactive solutions across designs in all technical areas
