About the role
We are seeking a driven and ambitious Junior Solicitor to join the legal team at Victim First Legal, dedicated to supporting victims of crime. In this full-time role based in Thornbury, VIC, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality legal assistance and representation to vulnerable clients.
What you'll be doing
Providing legal advice and representation for clients making applications to the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)
Preparing legal submissions and assisting with case preparation
Collaborating with other members of the legal team and social services to ensure a holistic approach to client support
Staying up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation and case law
What we're looking for
A law degree and admission to practice as a solicitor in Victoria
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with vulnerable clients
A commitment to social justice and making a positive difference in the community

Remuneration
The position offers a salary of $70,000–$73,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with the successful candidate’s level of experience.
In addition to salary and superannuation, the firm will cover the cost of the successful candidate’s annual practising certificate and required Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Please note that the position will require initial full time office attendance with the ability to progress to flexible working arrangements
