Boarding School Residential Leader

St Patrick's College Townsville is seeking an experienced and passionate Residential Leader to join our thriving Boarding House community. Flexible employment arrangements, including job-share opportunities, may be considered for the right candidate.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young women by helping create a safe, supportive and enriching home away from home for our boarding students. As a key leader within the Boarding Team, you will play an integral role in student wellbeing, residential care and the day-to-day operation of the Boarding House.

About the Role

As a Residential Leader, you will provide leadership and support to residential staff while ensuring the safety, wellbeing and personal development of boarding students. You will model high standards of professionalism, care and compliance and respond effectively to both routine and emerging situations within the boarding environment.

This position operates on a rostered basis during school terms and includes morning and afternoon shifts, split shifts, evening duties, overnight sleepovers and weekend work. Flexibility and the ability to work across a range of rostered hours are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for boarding students.

• Leading and supporting residential staff during rostered duty periods.

• Promoting positive student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement.

• Managing student attendance, compliance and boarding house procedures.

• Responding to student wellbeing, behavioural and pastoral care matters as they arise.

• Building positive relationships with students, families, staff and external stakeholders.

• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to the effective operation of the Boarding House.

About You

You are a compassionate and capable leader who:

• Has experience in residential care, boarding, education, youth work or a related field.

• Demonstrates strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Builds positive and respectful relationships with young people.

• Exercises sound judgement and remains calm under pressure.

• Models professionalism, integrity and accountability.

• Is committed to student wellbeing, safeguarding and best practice residential care.
