Social Media Production Coordinator

About the RoleWe're looking for a Social Media Production Coordinator to join our creative team and grow with the agency.
You'll be hands-on across shoot planning, content capture, production logistics and editing—working closely with our Creative Director, Production team and Account Service team to bring ideas to life from concept through to delivery.
This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes social media, is obsessed with how content is made (not just posted), and wants to build a long-term career in content production and creative execution.
You'll be supported and mentored by our Creative Director, while being encouraged to take ownership, think ahead, solve problems and continually improve how we execute content.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Hi-Fi Shoot Planning & Client CommunicationCoordinate all pre-production planning for premium (Hi-Fi) content shoots.Liaise directly with clients to confirm shoot logistics, timelines, locations and deliverables.Prepare production schedules, call sheets and shoot documentation.Coordinate talent, props, locations and equipment where required.Ensure all stakeholders are aligned prior to shoot day.Communicate professionally with clients throughout the production process.
Hi-Fi Shoot Attendance & ExecutionAttend professional photo and video shoots across Melbourne (and occasionally interstate/internationally).Support the Creative Director, producers, photographers and videographers on set.Ensure shoots run smoothly, efficiently and on schedule.Capture behind-the-scenes content where appropriate.Manage production logistics and troubleshoot issues as they arise.Maintain Melbourne Social Co's premium production standards on every shoot.
Native Content ProductionOwn the production of social-first content across both once-off campaigns and ongoing retainers.Including:Planning native filming days.Capturing engaging iPhone-first content.Filming Reels, TikToks and Stories.Working with clients and creators to capture authentic content.Identifying content opportunities in real time.Ensuring all required content is captured efficiently.
Editing & Content DeliveryProduce polished, platform-native content ready for publishing.Responsibilities include:Editing standard social content including:Instagram ReelsTikToksStoriesShort-form social videosCreating fast-turnaround edits that align with client brand guidelines.Preparing files for handover to the Social team.Managing file structures and asset organisation.Maintaining quality control across all deliverables.
Production CoordinationManage production timelines and shoot schedules.Coordinate equipment and production resources.Assist with production administration and organisation.Keep projects progressing on time and communicate any risks early.Support continual improvement of production workflows and systems.
Creative CollaborationWork closely with the Creative Director on content execution.Collaborate with Social Media Managers to understand content objectives.Contribute creative ideas during planning sessions.Stay across emerging social media trends, filming techniques and editing styles.Look for ways to improve efficiency and content quality.
What Success Looks LikeAfter 6–12 months, you'll be confidently:Independently planning and coordinating Hi-Fi production shoots.Managing client communication throughout the production process.Running native content filming days for both retainers and campaigns.Editing high-quality social-first content efficiently.Supporting premium shoot execution with confidence.Becoming a trusted production lead across multiple client accounts.Helping improve production systems and workflows.Taking ownership of projects while maintaining Melbourne Social Co's creative standards.
Skills & ExperienceA minimum of 3+ years experience filming social-first content ideally within an agency environmentStrong understanding of Instagram, TikTok and short-form video.Experience planning and coordinating content shoots.Confident communicating with clients.Experience editing social content in Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut.Strong organisational and project management skills.Ability to multitask across multiple productions.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a creative team.Current Australian driver's licence.
