Group Accountant

Our client is a large, complex, multi-entity business headquartered in Perth CBD who are looking for a Group Accountant to join their finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in company-wide reporting, consolidations and tax compliance across the group.

This is a great opportunity for a technically strong accountant who wants exposure to a genuinely complex group structure and a direct line into senior finance leadership.

You'll support the Financial Controller across three core areas: group financial reporting, consolidations and tax compliance. Day to day, you can expect to:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual group consolidated financial statements.
• Manage the group consolidation process across multiple entities, working closely with divisional finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and support the year-end and half-year audit process, liaising directly with external auditors.
• Assist with the preparation and lodgement of income tax returns, BAS, FBT and other statutory tax obligations across the group.
• Support tax effect accounting, including current and deferred tax calculations for group reporting purposes.
• Contribute to technical accounting papers on complex transactions (business combinations, revenue recognition) and help maintain group accounting policies.
• Assist with the design and improvement of reporting processes and controls as the business continues to grow in scale and complexity. Partner with the Financial Controller and broader finance team on ad hoc projects, systems improvements and process automation initiatives.

You're a qualified accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent) with a solid grounding in financial reporting and consolidations, ideally gained in a large or complex group environment, professional services, or a similar corporate setting.

You bring:

• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including AASB/IFRS consolidation and group reporting standards.
• Exposure to Australian corporate tax compliance (income tax, GST/BAS, FBT) or a strong willingness to build this skill set. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP and consolidation systems.
• A methodical, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple deadlines across a busy reporting calendar. Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders, including the Financial Controller and external auditors.
• A proactive mindset and genuine interest in understanding how a large, multi-entity business operates end to end.
