About the role
The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.
The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.
Eligible Aboriginal applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy. If an Aboriginal applicant is selected, the remaining non-Aboriginal applicants will not be assessed.

Information Services’ objectives are to support CLC goals by managing, preserving and providing continuing access to CLC's business information and cultural heritage assets and resources. Further, to optimise the use and value of information assets and resources by building the information literacy skills of staff. The section is accountable for the provision of collection preservation, storage and access services. CLC records consist of paper-based files, audio visual and digital records, bound volumes, photographs, maps and other objects and formats.
The Information Services Officer (Preservation) ensures the effective application of relevant preservation measures, and duties to enable continuous access to Central Land Council’s (CLC) records and archival collections. The focus of this position are audio-visual-materials, i.e. collection management, access and preservation. The aim is to provide appropriate long-term storage for all record formats, including those born-digital. Another objective is to preserve the records and formats that are actively deteriorating or known to be at risk. Community and constituent consultation forms part of the position to ensure consent to collect, store and manage information with appropriate access controls. The role is also required to undertake several day-to-day priority records and customer service tasks.
Base Salary: Starting from $83,685 p.a. (negotiable classification banding based on skills and experience, subject to CLC EA guidelines and authorised approval).

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
