About the role
Amanah Care Support is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our growing team in Melbourne’s, western suburbs.
We provide respectful, person centred support that helps NDIS participants increase their independence, achieve their goals and participate confidently in their community.
ABOUT THE ROLEYou will support participants living with Autism and ADHD. The role requires patience, consistency, strong communication skills and the ability to respond calmly to each participant’s individual needs.Your duties may include:
• Assistance with daily living activities • Community access and social participation • Transport to appointments, activities and outings • Supporting participants to develop life skills and independence • Following individual support and behaviour support plans • Providing emotional regulation and positive behaviour support • Maintaining accurate progress notes and incident records • Communicating professionally with participants, families and the wider support team
ABOUT YOUThe successful applicant will: • Have practical experience supporting people with Autism and ADHD • Use a calm, patient and strengths-based approach • Be reliable, respectful and able to maintain professional boundaries • Be confident supporting participants in their homes and community • Work independently while following organisational policies and support plans • Be available for flexible shifts, including possible evenings or weekends
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS• Previous disability-support experience involving Autism and ADHD • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check • Working with Children Check • Current First Aid and CPR certificates • Valid Australian driver’s licence • Right to work in Australia DESIRABLE • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification • Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies • Experience supporting participants with complex or sensory needs
