The Tasmanian Walking Company (TWC) have been walking for over 30 years, offering amazing wilderness experiences to our guests in some of Tasmania’s most special and remote wilderness locations. We work to deliver a truly immersive experience as we create connections between people and place in remote cultural landscapes through our boutique multi-day walking experiences.
Whilst our roots lie in Tassie, we operate on mainland Australia as The Australian Walking Company (AWC) and are excited to be experiencing a growth phase in the business as we introduce a number of new walks.
About the Role
This is a full-time role running until the end of May 2027. The position is based in Hadspen and reports to our Central Tasmania Regional Experience Manager.
As the Cradle Mountain Team Leader, you’ll oversee day-to-day walk operations and support guides to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This includes logistics coordination, guide training and support, safety systems, food and service standards, and care of lodges and assets.
Our Guides at Cradle Mountain lead Guests on a 5, 7 or 8 day expedition from Hadspen along spectacular alpine walking tracks, sharing local knowledge and ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience. They also manage the day-to-day logistics and deliver warm lodge hospitality, including meals and guest care.

What you will bring
A passion for the Cradle Mountain environments, and a love of sharing their stories with guests. You enjoy leading teams, solving problems, and working hands-on in an operational setting.
• Experience providing day-to-day leadership and coordination in a hands-on operational environment, preferably within tourism.
• Hospitality experience and a passion for preparing and cooking delicious food.
• Current Wilderness First Aid (SISSS00126)
• Current Provide CPR (HLTAID009)
• Use hygienic practices for Food Safety (SITXFSA005)
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021)
