About the role

Fat Pomelo is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Bartender to join our team in Narrabeen, NSW. This is a full-time position offering the flexibility of casual arrangements. As a Bartender, you will be the face of our establishment, crafting exceptional cocktails and beverages whilst delivering outstanding customer service to our guests. This role is crucial to creating memorable experiences and maintaining the high standards Fat Pomelo is known for.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a variety of cocktails, beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages to the highest standard

• Maintaining an engaging and friendly demeanour with all customers, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere

• Operating the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently to process payments

• Ensuring compliance with responsible service of alcohol practices and licensing laws

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including cleaning glassware, bottles and equipment

• Restocking supplies and monitoring inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock during service

• Collaborating with front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery

• Creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all customers and colleagues

• Following health and safety protocols and contributing to a safe workplace

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a bartender in a hospitality setting, preferably in a bar, restaurant or club environment

• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers and other beverages, including their characteristics and pairings

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests and handle diverse personalities

• Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other bar management technology

• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification or willingness to obtain it

• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

• Preferred experience with craft cocktails or advanced mixology techniques
