Kitchen Hand

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the Warrior Restaurant team at The Crocodile Hunter Lodge as a Full Time ‘Kitchen Hand’.

The Crocodile Hunter Lodge has been designed to reconnect guests with nature, and is home to beautiful native wildlife, with black cockatoos and kangaroos visiting most days. The Warrior restaurant will overlook a state-of-the-art home for our resident emus, kangaroos and koalas.

Kitchen Hands must be passionate about food, be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have an energetic hard working personality! The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of understanding of all relevant Workplace Health and Safety aspects.

Duties Include – 

• Maintaining a high level of workplace hygiene and safety within the Kitchen areas

• Cleaning of all cutlery, crockery and kitchen equipment used throughout the food service

• Assist when required with basic food preparation such as peeling, grating and chopping for food service

• Removing rubbish from the Kitchen regularly

• Reporting any faulty or damaged equipment to your Supervisor

• Follow workplace procedures at all times

• Liaise with Supervisors and Managers when applicable

Essential Criteria – 

• Experience within a similar role or within the hospitality industry

• Hold or obtain a Food Handlers Safety certificate

• Ability to work in high pressure situations

• Availability to work weekends, evenings, public holidays and school holidays

Preferred Criteria – 

• Other relevant certificates for the hospitality industry

• Responsible Service of Alcohol
