OHS Manager - Construction

Point Force Group Pty Ltd are one of  Australia's fastest growing labour hire and construction companies. Our Head Office is based in Cheltenham and we provide labour hire, traffic control, carpentry & construction services to a broad range of clients all over Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast & Brisbane.

We are now looking for an OHS Manager to join our team on a full-time basis operating out of our Melbourne office and attending client sites across Victoria. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to become part of the team. Strong knowledge of State legislation and Australian standards are essential to this role. About this role:
Day-to-day tasks will include, but are not limited to:

• Develop, implement and review our OHS strategy in line with our Integrated Management System (IMS)

• Lead and support the OHS Coordinator and division managers

• Advise senior management on OHS matters, recommend controls and escalate hazards, incidents and non-compliance

• Ensure compliance with State OHS legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and client requirements

• Approve SWMS and oversee site inductions

• Manage the OHS audit and assurance program across sites, warehouse and office

• Lead incident, injury and return-to-work management, and plan toolbox talks

• Oversee contractor and client pre-qualification, including insurance, licences and SWMS

• Communicate safety learnings to workers and clients, and support WorkSafe and client investigations

About you:

• 5 years experience in an OHS managerial role in the construction or labour hire industries

• Relevant OHS/WHS degree or qualification

• Full driver's licence and White Card

• Extensive knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards

• Experience managing an IMS, SWMS, audits and incident investigations

• Experience in injury management and return-to-work processes

• Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with sound judgement under pressure

• Confident to challenge unsafe practices and influence decisions at all levels
