This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified Position designated under Special Measures in accordance with Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic). Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC) is the Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) representing the Bunurong people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation.
We advocate for the protection of Bunurong cultural heritage, the care of Country, and the wellbeing of our community and workforce across Greater Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and the Bass Coast. Our work is grounded in culture, respect and strong governance.
BLCAC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Services team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this hands-on role supports the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant financial operations across the organisation. The position is responsible for end-to-end payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting support and month-end processes.
The role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting compliance requirements, improving finance systems and processes, and contributing to the effective financial management of BLCAC.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander finance professional looking to apply and further develop their accounting, payroll and financial management experience within a growing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.
