Set in the majestic hills of South Gippsland, Camp Rumbug stretches across 200 acres of stunning temperate rainforest. Just two hours from Melbourne’s CBD and overlooking Wilsons Promontory National Park, camp feels a world away from everyday life.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Centre Manager to support the day‑to‑day leadership and operations of our centre, helping deliver safe, fun and high‑quality outdoor education experiences.

About The Role

Working closely with the Centre Manager, you’ll be right at the heart of the action — leading activity instructors, supporting operational teams and making sure every guest experience runs smoothly from arrival to departure.

You’ll be a visible, energetic presence around the centre, mentoring staff, engaging with visiting teachers and stepping in to solve challenges as they arise. No two days look the same, and that’s exactly why this role is so rewarding.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading, mentoring and developing Activity InstructorsSupporting training, performance and staff progressionHelping deliver safe, fun and engaging programsBeing a key contact for teachers and group leaders onsiteSupporting daily operations including catering, cleaning and maintenance teamsAssisting with rostering, resourcing, safety and complianceJumping in to solve problems, support staff and keep everything moving

What We’re Looking For

Have experience leading or supervising teams (outdoor education or camps is a big plus)Are organised, proactive and calm under pressureLove working with people and building positive team cultureBring strong communication and problem‑solving skillsAre passionate about safety, quality and great guest experiences

Requirements

Full working rights in AustraliaCurrent (or willingness to obtain) Working With Children CheckFirst Aid & Bronze Medallion (or willingness to gain)Flexibility to work variable hours, including peak periods
