North Shore Private Hospital (NSPH) is a 336-bed surgical, medical and maternity facility located on Sydney’s lower North Shore. The hospital’s specialties include orthopaedics, obstetrics, neurosurgery, intensive care, cardiac surgery, cardiology, ear nose and throat, vascular, plastics, oncology and general surgery.

North Shore Private Hospital is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to work in our busy Physiotherapy Department. 

About the Role

In this rewarding role as an Allied Health Assistant, on a casual basis, you will provide essential clinical and non-clinical support Physiotherapists. You'll work alongside a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.  

Duties will include:

• Assisting Physiotherapists with patient care across all ward areas
• Conducting exercise sessions and individual treatments as allocated.
• Preparation of therapy areas, equipment and materials.
• Assisting in patient escorting to and from Gymnasium and therapy areas.
• Assisting in departmental / service administrative tasks and maintaining resources.
• Inspecting and maintaining mobility aids/rehabilitation equipment for safety and function.

About You:

• Hold a Cert III in Allied Health Assistance or being undertaking a degree in Physiotherapy
• Willingness to work under the supervision of an Allied Health practitioner
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage workload demands and priorities
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellence in customer service
• Flexible positive approach to work. 
• Must have weekend availability
