ATCO Structures & Logistics is a global leader in modular design, manufacturing and construction. For over 75 years, we’ve delivered high-quality building solutions across construction, resources, defence and community sectors.
This role is designed for a graduate or early-career quantity surveyor, construction management professional, or estimator looking to build a career in commercial construction.
You will work alongside experienced estimators supporting cost planning, quantity take-offs, supplier engagement, and project pricing while gaining exposure to design, manufacturing, and project delivery.
Why Join ATCO?
Kick-start your career with an established global organisation.
Learn from an experienced team across estimating, design and construction.
Work on real projects and see your work progress from concept through to construction.
Build valuable technical skills across Revit, BIM and estimating systems.
Develop your career long term within a supportive team and growing industry.
About the Role
As a Junior Estimator, you’ll support our Design & Estimating team in preparing cost plans, quantity take-offs and estimates for modular construction projects.
Working alongside experienced estimators, designers and project teams, you’ll learn how to interpret drawings, assess project scope, obtain supplier pricing and develop accurate project estimates.
This role provides exposure across estimating, design, manufacturing and project delivery, making it an ideal opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional looking to build a long-term career in commercial construction and estimating.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assist in preparing estimates and cost plans for modular construction projects.
Complete quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and project documentation.
Review project documentation to identify scope requirements, assumptions, risks and potential cost drivers.
Assist in developing estimate clarifications, inclusions and exclusions.
Obtain, review and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Support the maintenance of pricing databases and estimating tools.
Work closely with Designers, Estimators and Project Teams to understand how project scope influences cost and delivery outcomes.
Use drawings, BIM models and project documentation to support estimating activities.
Build your understanding of modular construction, manufacturing processes, procurement and project delivery.
Contribute to process improvements that improve estimating accuracy, consistency and efficiency.
About You
You don't need years of experience to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, commercially minded and eager to learn.
You'll enjoy solving problems, working with numbers, and understanding how building scope, quantities and procurement decisions impact project costs. Most importantly, you'll be motivated to build a long-term career in estimating within the construction industry.
Ideally, you will have:
A degree (or final year studies) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Economics or a related construction discipline.
The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
A sound understanding of construction methods and building components.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong communication and organisation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with data.
Exposure to estimating, quantity take-offs, Revit, BIM or construction-related software would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Most importantly, you’ll be motivated to build a career in estimating and construction and ready to learn from an experienced team.
