Specialised Inclusion Support Assistant

MacKillop Catholic College is seeking three passionate and dedicated Specialised Inclusion Support Assistants to join our supportive and inclusive school community.

These positions provide an exciting opportunity for experienced and compassionate education support professionals to work closely with students who require additional support to engage successfully in their learning and school environment.

About the Role

As a Specialised Inclusion Support Assistant, you will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and Inclusion Support Coordinators to support the educational, social and emotional needs of identified students.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing individualised support to students with additional learning and support needs.

• Assisting students to access and participate in classroom learning and school activities.

• Supporting students with personal, social and emotional regulation where required.

• Implementing strategies and adjustments identified through student learning and support plans.

• Working collaboratively with teachers to support differentiated learning activities.

• Developing positive and respectful relationships with students.

• Supporting students to develop independence, confidence and self-advocacy.

• Assisting with student transitions and participation across different learning environments.

• Maintaining appropriate student records and documentation.

• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote positive student outcomes.

• Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual disability, complex learning needs, sensory needs, emotional regulation or behavioural support requirements will be highly regarded.

Qualifications in Education Support, Disability, Allied Health, Youth Work or a related field will be advantageous.
