About the role

Material Logistics Handling Pty. Ltd. Trading as Transtainer is seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team in Wingfield SA 5013. This is a full-time position based at our facility, offering you the opportunity to work with precision metalwork and contribute to high-quality fabrication projects. As a Metal Fabricator, you will play a vital role in our operations, utilising your technical expertise to produce, assemble, and finish metal components and structures that meet our exacting standards. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the trades and services sector.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements

• Measure, cut, and shape metal materials using hand tools, power tools, and machinery

• Perform welding, riveting, bolting, and other joining techniques to assemble metal components

• Inspect fabricated parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications

• Assemble and fit metal structures, ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity

• Operate and maintain fabrication equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality standards

• Perform finishing work including grinding, polishing, and surface treatment as required

• Document work completed and report any issues or concerns to management

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or certification in welding, boilermaking, or metal fabrication

• Demonstrated experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related trades (preferably 3+ years)

• Proficiency with welding equipment and fabrication machinery

• Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

• Physical fitness and ability to work in a dynamic workshop environment

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• A valid driver's licence is desirable

• Current or willingness to obtain relevant safety certifications (such as welding certifications or height rescue training where applicable)

• A proactive approach to health and safety in the workplace
