The role

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll build and improve the cloud platform that powers critical workloads for both internal systems and customers. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll work with cutting-edge technologies, solve complex infrastructure challenges, and help shape the future of our platform engineering capability.

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex Terraform modules and configurations
• Drive automation and standardisation across cloud environments to accelerate delivery
• Collaborate with application teams to build solutions that enable faster, more reliable software delivery 
• Develop and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, driving deployment velocity and reliability 
• Manage Kubernetes clusters including advanced provisioning, networking, security hardening, performance optimisation, and strategic upgrade planning
• Lead incident response efforts for critical cloud infrastructure issues and conduct post-incident reviews
• Drive the adoption of innovative solutions and continuously elevate team standards and technical capabilities

What experience you'll bring

• Extensive hands-on experience with a broad range of AWS cloud services in an enterprise environment, including advanced networking, security, and compute
• In-depth understanding of Kubernetes architecture, patterns, and operational best practices (experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio is highly desirable)
• Proven experience in designing and implementing observability strategies, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, New Relic)
• Experience with advanced TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and complex networking concepts within cloud environments, including network security best practices
• Superior ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to influence technical direction, lead technical discussions, and mentor team members effectively
• AWS Certifications and Kubernetes Certifications are highly recommended
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar is desirable
