About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-motivated Administration Officer to join our team in Emergency. As a member of our team, you will be given opportunities to grow and develop Administrative and Customer Service skills. You will work together with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to achieve a common goal of delivering high quality patient centred care.

Remuneration: $39.43 - 40.33 per hour

What you'll be doing
The Administration Officer/Communications Clerk in Emergency is responsible for the timely patient registration, admission and/or transfer of all patients who present to Emergency Department. The position plays a pivotal role in interviewing, correctly classifying patients and providing accurate and timely information about using private health insurance within the public hospital system.
The Administration Officer/Communications Clerk is part of a wider Administration and Patient Services Unit that supports and works with the in-patient wards and the Revenue Department.
The Administration Officer/Communications Clerk will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall function and management of the Clerical and Admission functions will remain the responsibility of Emergency Supervisor, Patient Services Manager and Nurse Manager.
