Ilim College is seeking an experienced and passionate Arabic Teacher & Arabic Domain Head to join our Kiewa Secondary Campus as soon as possible.
This position presents an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Arabic educator to combine classroom teaching with curriculum leadership, supporting high-quality Arabic language education and providing guidance and direction within the Arabic Domain.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will undertake both teaching and leadership responsibilities, contributing to the ongoing development and delivery of the Arabic program across the Secondary Campus.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality Arabic lessons aligned with relevant curriculum requirements.
Leading and supporting the Arabic Domain to ensure consistent and effective teaching practices.
Providing curriculum leadership, guidance and support to Arabic teaching staff.
Supporting curriculum planning, assessment, moderation and reporting processes.
Monitoring student achievement and implementing strategies to improve learning outcomes.
Supporting teachers with the development of engaging and differentiated learning programs.
Promoting collaboration, professional growth and continuous improvement within the Arabic Domain.
Maintaining a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
Building strong professional relationships with students, staff and families.
Participating in College meetings, activities and professional development.
Supporting and upholding the Islamic ethos, values and expectations of Ilim College.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Appropriate teaching qualifications and current VIT registration.
Strong proficiency in Arabic and demonstrated experience teaching Arabic at the secondary level.
Sound curriculum knowledge and contemporary teaching practices.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to support and develop teaching staff.
Strong curriculum planning, assessment and organisational capabilities.
Excellent classroom management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A collaborative approach to leadership and teamwork.
A genuine commitment to improving student learning and achievement.
A commitment to supporting the Islamic ethos and values of Ilim College.
