Plant Maintenance Trade Assistance

About the role

IRONFIST Heavy Mech&Fab is seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Trades Assistant to join our team in Gympie, QLD. As a fulltime Trades Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our tradesmen with a large variety of jobs both onsite and in the workshop. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our growing maintenance business.

What you'll be doing

1. Assist with Performing scheduled and preventative maintenance on a variety of earthmoving equipment and fixed plant, conveyors, and air systems

2. Assist with Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with machinery and plant, while also assisting with necessary repairs

3. Documenting maintenance activities

4. Assisting with fabrication and painting of structural components

5. Ensuring all maintenance work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and best practices

6. Operating forklift for loading and unloading trucks and to assist with the assembly of components or structures

What we're looking for

1. Some experience in a plant maintenance or industrial role with relevant skills that will transfer across

2. Forklift Ticket, working at heights and EWP over 11m ticket (not essential)

3. Willingness to learn new skills and gain more knowledge

4. Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment

5. Strong communication and teamwork skills

6. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

7. Australian citizenship required for this position
