Health and Safety Advisor

We’re looking for a hands-on Health & Safety Advisor to join our Central Queensland team and help make safety something people genuinely live, not just talk about. Based at Fisherman’s Landing, with regular travel to our East End Mine site, you’ll support a diverse mix of operations across the Gladstone region, from cement manufacturing and distribution to mining and rail.

This isn’t a desk-job safety role. You’ll be out where the action ison site, in the field, and alongside our people. Whether you're chatting with operators, working through challenges with maintenance teams, or partnering with leaders to drive improvement, your influence will come from being visible, approachable, and practical.

You’ll build strong relationships, provide real-world safety support, and help create a culture where everyone feels empowered to speak up, look out for each other, and go home safely every day. Your Opportunity 

You will report to the Health & Safety Manager - CQ, with connection to the broader HSE team across the business. In this role you will:

• Provide visible safety leadership and shopfloor engagement across our Gladstone sites.
• Coaching teams and individuals on best safety practices, understanding roadblocks and help set them up for success, sustainably
• Lead site inspections, audits, work permits, isolations and risk assessments.
• Manage hazard and incident reporting, investigation and response.
• Maintain risk registers, including health risk, primary risk and asbestos registers.
• Act as Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator, developing suitable duties plans.
• Support and oversee workers compensation claims.
• Deliver SHE training, including permit to work, isolation, and hazard and risk management.
• Support site teams and contractors during plant maintenance shutdowns.
• Assess contractor SHE plans and manage the Approved Contractor Register.
• Participate in SHE meetings, including HSR Committee and pre-starts.

• Diploma in Safety, Health or Environment (or equivalent experience).
•  5+ years’ SHE experience in an operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of SHE legislation and compliance requirements.
• RRTWC accreditation or willingness to obtain on commencement.
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Competent with systems and general administration (MS Office and reporting tools).
• Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 systems.
• Mining/heavy industry experience including shutdowns (highly regarded).
• Contractor management, rehabilitation or suitable duties experience (desirable).
• Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
