Principal Project Officer
Location – Parramatta Hybrid

Your role
Homes NSW is a division of the Department of Communities and Justice. It brings together the housing and homelessness functions of the Department of Communities and Justice, the NSW Land and Housing Corporation, Aboriginal Housing Office and key worker housing functions from across government all under one roof.
Homes NSW leads work to deliver more social and affordable housing, end the cycle of homelessness, and deliver quality public housing to our 262,000 tenants across NSW.
This role will support the Project Director to manage large and complex projects to deliver initiatives to support Housing Portfolio’s maintenance programs that improve the condition of the asset portfolio and provide clean, safe and habitable dwellings and communities for NSW’s most vulnerable people. This role will undertake research and analysis to identify options in order to support the development of key projects and undertaking analysis of the performance of these projects.
What you’ll do
There are two positions available within the Capital Upgrade Unit. While both roles require strong project and contract management capabilities, the positions have different areas of responsibility:
Position 1
Provide expert contract management skills to assist with the procurement of services to deliver various capital programs. The role will also provide project management support in delivering capital programs, including the SHEPI and Acquisition Upgrade programs.
Position 2
This is a people leadership position responsible for the SHEPI program, reporting, engagement with internal and external business units and organisations, and managing business support for the Capital Upgrade Unit. The role will also provide expert contract management skills to assist with the procurement of services to deliver various capital programs, as well as project management skills in delivering capital programs, including the Acquisition Upgrade Program.
