Excavator Operator

BLC Queensland is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our construction team based in Greenbank, QLD.

This is a hands-on role operating 3–8 tonne excavators across a range of commercial landscaping, civil and infrastructure projects.

We are looking for an operator who can confidently operate machinery, understands levels and site preparation, takes pride in producing quality work and can work effectively as part of a construction crew.

As an Excavator Operator, you will play an important role in the successful delivery of our projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating 3–8 tonne excavators safely and efficiently

• Bulk excavation, detailed excavation and site preparation

• Trenching and drainage works

• Loading trucks and moving materials

• Trimming batters, levels and subgrades to specification

• Assisting with landscape construction and civil works

• Working from plans, levels and site instructions

• Working closely with Site Supervisors, Foremen and labourers

• Completing daily pre-starts and routine machinery checks

• Maintaining a clean, safe and productive work environment

• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within project timeframes

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating excavators in construction, civil or landscaping

• Proven experience operating 3–8 tonne excavators

• Excavator competency/ticket (essential)

• Bobcat/Skid Steer ticket (advantageous)

• Strong understanding of excavation, site preparation, drainage and construction processes

• Ability to read and work to levels and site plans

• Good understanding of safe work practices and site procedures

• Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• White Card (essential)

• Current Driver Licence and MR Licence (essential)

• HR Licence (desirable)
