About the Role
RIGCOM is seeking an experienced Regional Manager, based in Canberra to lead the sales and operational performance of our ACT and Southern NSW business across Height Safety, Inspections & Recertifications and Rope Access.
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for driving business growth, achieving sales and profitability targets, managing resources and building strong relationships with clients and suppliers. Working closely with the Business Development Manager and operational teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This role will require occasional travel across the region.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and deliver the annual business plan and sales budget in line with agreed KPIs.
Oversee the sales and operations functions of the ACT business, including Height Safety Installations, Inspections & Recertifications and Rope Access activities.
Monitor project performance and profitability to maximise returns and achieve business targets.
Ensure the ACT business has the appropriate people, equipment and resources required to deliver budget and operational performance.
Drive business sales from project quotation through to delivery, working closely with crews to ensure timely project completion, minimise downtime and achieve sales and profit targets.
Work closely with the Business Development Manager to identify and leverage sales opportunities with new and existing customers, including personally managing key opportunities where required.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers to support efficient project delivery, streamline workflows and minimise cost overruns.
Manage project variations effectively, ensuring changes to scope, costs and delivery requirements are appropriately communicated and captured.
Complete and maintain regular business reporting requirements across finance, human resources and sales activities.
Monitor regional performance against agreed budgets, KPIs and business objectives and implement corrective actions where required.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across sales and operational processes to improve efficiency, profitability and customer outcomes.
About You
We’re looking for a highly motivated and commercially focused leader who can effectively manage teams, projects and customer relationships. You will ideally bring:
Minimum 5 years' of experience managing commercial operations.
Proven experience in project management and/or P&L responsibility.
Strong knowledge of the height safety and rope access industries, including relevant Standards, Codes of Practice, products, services and installation requirements.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
Formal tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline are preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service and quality documentation.
Sound understanding of WHS requirements, risk assessment, SWMS and safe work practices.
Proficiency in project management and business software systems such as simPRO, Salesforce and Microsoft Office, experience with similar systems will also be considered.
Relevant working-at-heights, construction, first aid, asbestos awareness (ACT) and/or rescue qualifications will be highly regarded.
Experience/exposure in industrial business environments such as manufacturing, contracting services would be an advantage.
