Senior Financial Accountant

We're currently looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team and play a critical role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls and supporting key business decisions.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit activities and financial analysis across the business.
You'll also have the opportunity to lead and develop two offshore team members while contributing to ongoing process improvement initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting and financial commentaryPrepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variancesSupport banking, statutory reporting and external audit requirementsPrepare monthly BAS returns and assist with taxation compliance obligationsManage intercompany reconciliations and consolidation activitiesPartner with business stakeholders to resolve financial issues and improve reporting outcomesSupport annual budgeting and forecasting processesConduct financial analysis and variance reportingLead and develop a small offshore teamDrive process improvement and automation opportunities
About You
You are a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on solving problems and continuously improving ways of working.
You'll bring:
CA or CPA qualificationTertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or BusinessExperience in a Financial Accountant role within a commercial or chartered environmentStrong financial reporting, reconciliation and compliance experienceExperience leading, coaching or mentoring junior team membersExcellent attention to detail and analytical capabilityStrong stakeholder management and communication skills
