HVAC Service Technician

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician or 3/4 Year apprentice to join the team at Valortec. This is a full-time position based in Narangba, QLD 4504. As an HVAC Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for our diverse clientele. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our clients' systems operate efficiently and reliably, whilst contributing to the growth and reputation of Valortec as a trusted service provider in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems for commercial, and industrial clients

• Diagnose system malfunctions and perform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of issues

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure systems are operating at optimal efficiency

• Test systems using appropriate tools and gauges to verify proper functioning and safety compliance

• Replace defective components such as compressors, fans, thermostats, and refrigerant lines

• Charge and recover refrigerants in compliance with environmental and safety regulations

• Document all work performed, including service reports and maintenance records

• Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues and recommend solutions

• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and in accordance with industry codes and regulations

• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all health and safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Valid refrigeration and air conditioning licence or equivalent qualification recognised in Queensland

• Proven experience as an HVAC technician or in a related role within the air conditioning and refrigeration industry

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration components

• Competency in reading technical diagrams, schematics, and system specifications

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, pressure gauges, multimeters, and refrigerant recovery equipment

• Sound understanding of electrical systems and wiring as they relate to HVAC equipment

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

• A current driver's licence and reliable transport for travelling to client locations
