About The Team
The Personalised Medicine Centre is a collaborative research partnership Murdoch University and the Perron Institute, bringing together leading researchers and clinicians and to advance personalised medicine. The Centre focuses on developing innovative treatments tailored to individual patients based on their unique genetic makeup and lifestyle.
Our research spans a range of critical health challenges, including genetic therapies, genomics, motor neurone disease, sepsis, immunogenomics, drug hypersensitivity, cognitive health, muscular dystrophy, and neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, myositis, and multiple sclerosis.
Your New Role!
A key objective of the University’s Research and Innovation Strategy is to provide the resources needed to support research excellence. The establishment of a central medical genomics facility will strengthen Murdoch’s nationally and internally recognised, fully accredited genomics capabilities, enhancing research and teaching across disciplines.
The Bioinformatics Analyst will primarily support the Drug Hypersensitivity Research Group, which investigates severe immune (T-cell)-mediated adverse drug reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (SJS/TEN). The group's research spans the discovery of genetic (HLA) risk markers for prevention through to the integrated analysis of single-cell transcriptomic, T-cell receptor (TCR), and metabolomic data to improve diagnosis and treatment. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge medical genomics research by developing, applying, and supporting bioinformatics tools and workflows, and by delivering analytical expertise across both population-scale and single-cell multi-omics datasets.
Your key responsibilities will include –
